The Corinne True Center for Bahá’í History and Texts is committed to fostering a welcoming environment where issues of significance to conference participants can be explored through thoughtful, respectful dialogue. All participants are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy, civility, and respect for speakers, fellow attendees, and differing perspectives.
Racially prejudicial, discriminatory, or demeaning comments or behavior—including remarks targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability— will not be tolerated. The Center leadership reserves the right to intervene to protect the safety, dignity, or respectful participation of others.
“Let neither [white or Black] think that anything short of genuine love, extreme patience, true humility, consummate tact, sound initiative, mature wisdom, and deliberate, persistent, and prayerful effort, can succeed in blotting out the stain which this patent evil [of racial prejudice] has left on the fair name of their common country. Let them rather believe, and be firmly convinced, that on their mutual understanding, their amity, and sustained cooperation, must depend, more than on any other force or organization operating outside the circle of their Faith, the deflection of that dangerous course so greatly feared by ‘Abdu’l‑Bahá, and the materialization of the hopes He cherished for their joint contribution to the fulfillment of that country’s glorious destiny.” (Shoghi Effendi, The Advent of Divine Justice)
“A person strives to acquire the qualities, attitudes, and abilities of an effective contributor to progress and endows the various aspects of his or her life—education, work, marriage, family life—with a strong sense of mission. Such an individual makes every exertion to conform to the high ideals of the Faith. Learning to avoid prejudices of all kinds, to adhere to a high standard of chastity, and to show rectitude in all interactions with others enables an individual to become an effective actor in the endeavour to change society.” (Reflections on Growth, Youth Conference Materials 2013)
