The role played by the Hands of the Cause who were alive at the time of the passing of Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Faith, in 1957 was unique and unprecedented in the annals of religious history. These “Custodians” of the Faith of Baha’u’llah were able to achieve the seemingly impossible and successfully piloted the ship of the Cause from perilous waters to safe harbor, a feat for which the Baha’i world owes them an eternal debt of gratitude. They did so by exemplifying a new form of leadership fit for the coming stage in the history of humanity. This webinar will explore the specific qualities they evinced and actions they took that marked this new form of leadership. We will also explore how their attitudes and behaviors stood in sharp contrast to what happened in past Dispensations, in particular Islam and Christianity.

This exploration is timely and critical given the warnings by the Guardian that eventually all nations, peoples, and denominations would arise in opposition to the Faith. There are many lessons we can glean from the ministry of the Custodians in order to fortify ourselves to remain steadfast and firm in the face of such opposition and to protect the ship of the Cause from future storms.
