- The difficulty of building a pathway up a steep slope with uneven sides and a surface of splintered rocks and rubble
Some of the factors that overcame the challenges.

- The availability of a brilliant architect, an experienced project manager
The presentation will outline the research, interviewing, and writing methods.

Michael V. Day is the author of a trilogy telling the story of the Shrine of the Bab. A personal challenge was to write Sacred Stairway in a way that helped other non-experts in construction to appreciate the challenges, triumph and significance of the Terraces project.
Michael was editor of the Baha’i World News Service (2003-2006), in the World Centre’s Office of Public Information, then sited under Terrace 10.
One of his other roles was occasionally assisting colleague Yin Thing Ming as she escorted VIP guests down from Terrace 19 to the Shrine of the Bab.
Born in New Zealand, Michael has been a lawyer, a foreign correspondent, and a non-political advisor (2017-2019) to the Foreign Minister of Papua New Guinea.
Based in Australia, he is concentrating on writing about the Shrine of Baha’u’llah. The first volume, Point of Adoration, appeared in 2023.
